Justin’s 27th Birthday

For Justin’s birthday we decided to make some homemade pizza and a trifle!

I drove up to Nashville on Friday after my class ended. We ended up sleeping in pretty late, and getting up to make the pizza dough and pound cake. We did a quick stop at Target for olive oil for the pizza, and ended up getting a game called HeroQuest. It originally released in the 90’s, and has been rereleased in 2019 with updated pieces and a companion app that acts as the gamemaster while the players dungeon crawl. It’s a pretty cool game, and I could see us playing it on game nights with Wingspan. it helps scratch the action dungeon crawl itch that Wingspan doesn’t really do.

We made extra pizza dough and used it to make homemade garlic knots that were so good. I think I would let them rise a little longer after tying them, since they weren’t as fluffy as I would have hoped. Instead of making a trifle, we ended up keeping the pound cake whole so it doesn’t go bad as quickly, since it was a huge decadent cake.
